Damascus round barrel with rear sight and deep, semi-circular sight line, stamped with Irish census number L-Y 7469. Pattison N.L. VADY.  Lock plate with oval, watertight pan. Battery spring with roller. Slim tap engraved, fuse slider. Engraved steel fittings, silver knob plate, oval silver monogram plate and silver thumb plate with engraved family coat of arms. Ramrod with iron dopper. Length 24 cm. Very good condition and function. William Pattison worked at Limavady in Ireland, mentioned in 1824 (Stöckel vol. 2 p. 822). Such large-caliber travel pistols were called manstoper pistols.
