Ducal Flintlockpistol Pistor Schmalkalden about 1750
Tapered, curved round barrel with silver rear sight, chamber baluster and two additional decorative balusters. Silver grain with leaf decoration. Rounded lock plate signed T.W.Pistor a. Schmalkalden. Engraved with surrounding toothed frieze and arabesque leaves. Double battery striking surface, finely engraved silver fittings. Side plate in fish mouth motif. Silver pommel shaped as a monogram plate with alloy C.L. and princely crown, which in form is ascribed to a prince from a ducal house. Grained walnut stock with horn end and baroque carving. Length 33.5cm. Barrel bright with some spotting. Delicate pistol in very good condition from a noble family, very good function.
