Heavy Miquelet Rifle Montenegro
Heavy Ottoman, tapered Damst barrel with an octagonal midsection and a raised, angular sight line in the front half. The chamber has a rear sight and diopter bore, richly fluted and inlaid with broad silver and gold lines. A cannon-shaped muzzle with a brass double front sight. A sturdy miquelet lock with openwork ironwork. A brass counterplate. The walnut full stock is finely inlaid with mother-of-pearl, bone, brass, and pewter inlays. Length 150 cm, barrel length 111 cm. A few inlays have been professionally replaced; otherwise, it is in very good condition and working order. The numerous fortifications and fjord-like bays of Montenegro required long-range rifles.
