One-piece brass action with barrel, the barrel with cannon balusters and a trombone muzzle. Octagonal chamber, action engraved with weapon trophies. Opposite side engraved under sunbursts “Dunderdale and Mabson”. Sliding safety, which simultaneously secures the hammer and frizzen. Underside deeply stamped with London proof marks P and V under a crown. Grained walnut stock stamped with owner’s mark “T. Rawling”. Length 17.5 cm. The trombone barrel tapers from 11.5 mm to 16.2 mm. Dunderdale and Mabson are mentioned in Birmingham from 1799 to 1803, see Stöckel Vol. 1, p. 317.
