Silver Miquelet Pistol, Albania, circa 1800

Octagonal barrel transitioning to round, chamber with fine iron-cut decoration. Lock marked in the center, lock plate with silver, engraved spring cover. Silver stock, the front section with raised scrollwork decoration, the base finely punched. The rear section with cast, finely crafted floral knobs, blossoms, and tendrils. Original iron ramrod. Length 53 cm, barrel length 34.5 cm. Barrel with cleaned rust spots, silver stock with a minor repair on the left side of the front, otherwise very well preserved and in excellent working order with strong springs. The silver stock consists of a wooden core encased in thick silver sheet. The section behind the lock is almost solid. On this pistol, the ramrod is removable and fully functional, a feature usually only suggested.
