Flintlock Pistol Henri Devilliers, Liège, ca. 1730
Tapered octagonal barrel with balusters, then round, silver-inlaid spider front sight. Chamber with marks. Tang bolt with brass overlay, sight line, and finely engraved mascaron. Faceted, angular lockplate signed Devilliers. Extremely finely crafted brass fittings with dragons, mascarons, ancient warriors, and floral decoration, engraved trigger plate. Grained walnut stock with floral carving. Length 50 cm, barrel length 32.5 cm. Only the crown is visible among the barrel marks, initials faint. Good function with strong springs and detent. Henri Devilliers is mentioned in Liège from 1734 to 1762, Adresse à l’enseigne du Lion Bleu a Sainte-Catherine (Stöckel, Vol. I, p. 291).
