Double-barreled Flintlock Pistol, likely German, circa 1790

1.100 €*

Superposed, rifled barrels; steel action box with fine “dog-tooth” engraving. Rotating flash-channel cylinder with leaf engraving; trigger blade with scrollwork engraving. Top-mounted sliding safety that secures both the hammer and the frizzen. Fine burl walnut grip. Total length 18.5 cm, barrel length 6.5 cm. Barrels show minimal spotting; very good action/sear function; strong springs. Rotating cylinder features a spring-loaded detent; flash holes are clear. Note: This is a pistol of French design. Due to the absence of proof marks, it is likely a German piece, as the Proof Act was not introduced in Germany until 1891.
