1.600 €*

Conical, octagonal barrel transitioning via a baluster section to a round profile; rectangular front sight. The breech features a deeply stamped maker’s mark depicting a lion ascending diagonally, along with the number “2505.” The breech plug tang incorporates a grooved rear sight. The lock plate is highly convex and bears the maker’s mark “V.C.” positioned between the frizzen spring leaves. Iron and brass furniture in the Saxon style. Dark, almost black, walnut stock in the “cow-foot” (*Kuhfuß*) configuration, featuring an engraved butt plate. Original ramrod. Length 143 cm; barrel length 105 cm. In very good condition; the bore is bright and smooth with minimal spotting. The lock mechanism functions very well, with strong springs. In terms of dimensions and form, the musket is similar to the Saxon Model 1745/85 UM infantry musket. See Vollmer, “Sachsen,” item 95 II.
