Rare Flintlock Officers Pistol, France about 1800
Octagonal, curved barrel, silver front sight. Case-hardened breech plug with rear sight, chamber with wide gold band and deeply stamped gold HR mark with crown. Bore with hairline grooves. Barrel signed “Lepage a Paris, Arq.er de L impereur”. Flat lock plate, angled and signed “Le Page a Paris”. Case-hardened steel fittings in Empire style. The lock is internally dated 1806 and serial number 875. Grained walnut stock, original ramrod. Overall length 30 cm, barrel length 21.5 cm. Bore still bright with slight spotting, otherwise in very good condition. Lock functions with strong springs. This is a pistol in military caliber, privately acquired by an officer.
